Location: Royal Arch Drainage Description: High above the creek bed, having taken the right side of the drainage instead of the "ledge" on the left, we came upon this small hole we had to crawl through to continue. There was a shear cliff wall on the upside of the trail and a rather precipitous drop on the downside. At this point we were way ahead of Tom, who was just returning from a close look at the ledge. We were wondering how he was going to get his pack through this opening. When he caught up with us about 10 minutes later we asked him. He had just gone around the downside, holding on to the tree branches as he scooted across to the other side. This is Shawn on his knees. Large image
